LITTLE LEARNERS

LASTING FOUNDATIONS

Our preschool is more than a place to spend the day. It's where children begin building a foundation for a lifetime of learning. Through Christ-centered teaching, meaningful play, intentional instruction, we nature curiosity, develop essential skills, and help each student grow in confidence, character and faith.

We offer both full time and part time options for preschool students.

OUR PROGRAMS

2-YEAR-OLDS I A JOYFUL FIRST STEP:

Our two-year-old program provides a warm, nurturing environment where little learners begin exploring the world around them. Through play, hands-on activities, music, stories, and meaningful relationships, children develop early language, social, and motor skills. We encourage growing independence while helping children feel safe, loved and valued. Each day offers opportunities to discover God's world through wonder and exploration.

3-YEAR-OLDS I GROWING THROUGH DISCOVERY:

Our three-year-old program builds on children's natural curiosity through purposeful play, hands-on learning, and engaging classroom experience. Children strengthen communication, early literacy and math skills, and social-emotional development while learning to follow routines and work alongside others. Biblical truths are woven into daily experiences, helping children begin to understand God's love and goodness. Our goal is to nurture a love of learning while building the skills and confidence children need for the next stage of their education.

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN I READY FOR WHAT'S NEXT:

Our Junior Kindergarten program bridges the early childhood years and elementary school through intentional instruction and meaningful discovery. Children develop foundational skills in literacy, math, language and critical thinking while growing in independence, responsibility and confidence. Through Christ-centered curriculum, students begin to see connections between what they learn and the world God created. We prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten while nurturing their curiosity, character, and love of learning.

Preschool FAQ's

Many parents and teachers prioritize cognitive and educational skills, such as counting, recognizing letters, and making letter sounds, before kindergarten. While these skills are introduced in Ironbridge Christian Academy’s preschool program, the primary focus is on developing social and independence skills essential for kindergarten readiness.

Preschool provides children with opportunities to interact with peers and adults, fostering self-control, patience, and problem-solving abilities that build perseverance. Additionally, exposure to books and media enhances language comprehension and helps children express their ideas effectively. This foundation allows teachers to further nurture each child’s unique abilities as they progress.

Ironbridge Christian Academy is proud to have a dedicated and experienced team of teachers and assistants. Many hold degrees in education or related fields, and all have prior experience working with preschoolers. Each staff member undergoes two comprehensive background checks before joining ICA. Our staff retention is excellent, with most teachers serving for over four years.

Teachers participate in regular in-service training, earning at least 10 Continuing Education Credits to stay updated on teaching methods. They also meet bi-monthly to plan activities and collaborate on classroom goals. Lesson plans are reviewed weekly by the director to ensure high-quality instruction. To keep parents informed, teachers create weekly newsletters so that parents are informed. Parents can easily reach teachers via phone, notes, or email.

ICA Preschool schedules two Parent/Teacher conferences annually, providing insights into each child's progress. At the end of the year, teachers also send a summary letter to help parents understand their child’s development. If any concerns arise, teachers promptly reach out to parents to schedule a conference.

Preschool students must be 2 by the start of the school year.

Our preschool program utilizes the Lovely Commotion Preschool Curriculum, a comprehensive, play-based curriculum designed to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children.

The curriculum supports growth across all areas of development, including language and literacy, early mathematics, science discovery, fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional development, creativity, and problem-solving. Through monthly themes, hands-on activities, learning centers, and purposeful play, students are encouraged to explore, create, and build a strong foundation for future learning while developing confidence and independence.

Bible instruction remains at the heart of our preschool program. Students participate in daily Bible lessons that teach God's Word through engaging stories, memory verses, worship, prayer, and Christ-centered character development. Biblical truths are intentionally woven throughout each day's learning experiences, helping children grow in both their faith and their understanding of God's love. Monthly themes and classroom learning objectives are shared with families to encourage continued learning and meaningful partnerships between home and school.

Yes! Weather permitting each class has a scheduled time out on the playground, and in case of inclement weather, a flex space is used to allow children time to run and have some less structured fun.

Yes! Snacks are decided by the individual classroom teachers considering her class’ need for such. All children should bring a healthy meal that does not need either refrigeration or microwaving. We also ask that all children bring water to drink – no juice boxes or sodas. Lunch is eaten in the classroom in a relaxed manner giving the children ample time to eat while also encouraging them to use proper manners and conversation.
